Transport Infrastructure Summit 2011

Delivering a transport network that is fit for purpose today and leaves a legacy for tomorrow is one of the greatest challenges facing the current coalition government.

This major summit will bring together experts and stakeholders from across the public, private and third sectors to discuss how we utilise and maximise our current transport network, as well as create a sustainable network capable of meeting Britain’s future needs.

Please note that this event has now been postponed indefinitely.

One of the Coalition’s main objectives is to build an economy which is more balanced both sectorally and geographically, that will deliver sustainable economic growth while delivering on our climate change targets. Investment in infrastructure, and transport infrastructure in particular, will be a key part of that approach.

Rt Hon Philip Hammond MP, Secretary of State for Transport, December 2010
